Gates of Return

I have started be'H a new 'cast called the Gates of Return. You will find the first episode here

here's the itunes description:

With difficulty facing us in every direction, our hearts tell us that there is no where to turn but to God. This podcast, based on the monumental work of Rabbi Yonah of Gerondi (Gerona) teaches us how to escape from the stains we may have inflicted upon our spiritual lives, to remove them and start afresh in our relationship with God.

New music podcast

It's been almost a year since the last music podcast, but I have wanted to do a new one for a while. Music has such power to inspire, it is 'chaval' to waste. You can get the new Jewish Music podcast here, and also be assured that there are inspiring messages, as well as inspiring songs contained therein. This podcast runs about 40 minutes long.

Daily D'var update

I have added the Daily Dvar to the Podcast page.

The daily d'var is on hold until it comes up on Itunes. I don't want it to suddenly appear with so many episodes. It is meant to be digested one at a time. I will be'H add more as soon as Itunes processes it.

Chayai Sarah Parsha link

Here's the link for this week's Parsha - Chayai Sarah.

If you're interested, there was actually an earlier version which I felt was a little bit too scary - the apocalyptic version. It's 1:30 minutes longer, and isn't for the faint of heart. I decided I didn't want to scare people off, so only listen to that version if you can handle some scary thoughts.

The scary part (if you choose to listen) was inspired by today's political and spiritual situation, which is deeply troubling. I have heard from a number of sources that we are standing at the threshold of the Messiah, and there are some scary repercussions to that fact. I also have recently been reading the website of Daniel, an autistic child, who communicates through Facilitated Communication (which some people claim is bogus, but I have seen personally). Sobering thoughts to see there.

Torah Shiurim now available

With God's help, my weekly Parsha podcast is being downloaded over 250 times each week on Itunes, and I would like to share it with a broader audience, hence it appears on this blog. I have also begun a new shiur, which will be daily, God willing, entitled the Daily Dvar. In this shiur, we have begun to peruse the sefer Shem Olam, written by the Chofetz Chaim. You can find all of the Parsha Shiurim on the following page:

www.arigoldwag.com/torah.html

The description on Itunes for my Parsha Podcast goes like this:

This unique Parsha podcast is filled with machshava, deep philosophical Jewish thought, based on traditional sources, from the ancient to the recent. All of the ideas are rooted in Torah tradition, filled with a spiritual message that is potent and poignant for the times.

In general I try to keep the Parsha Podcast between 10 and 15 minutes.

The Daily Dvar's purpose is to be a consistent Podcast, with God's help, coming out daily and limited to around 5 minutes. It is based on the work of the Chofetz Chaim and I use it as a springboard for some other ideas as well.

I have not yet put the Daily Dvar on that page, but for now you can access it here:
